Meet the Jan Simon
Jan Simon is the host of the Above & Beyond Podcast, a weekly show recorded in Gilbert, Arizona, featuring real conversations with the business owners, entrepreneurs and community leaders of the East Valley and across the country.
Six seasons and more than 70 episodes in, Jan has sat down with people who started over, lost it all, rebuilt, or simply kept going long after most people would have quit. The show has never been about polished success stories. It is about what actually happened on the way there.
Why the show exists
Jan started Above & Beyond to create a safe space for genuine conversations with people who have risked it all to follow their dreams and passions in business.
No scripts and no sales pitches. Just honest talk about the early influences, the turning points, the fears, and the personal "why" that kept each guest going when quitting would have been easier.
Outside the studio
Jan has spent more than 30 years in the insurance industry and owns Foundation Insurance Services, an independent property and casualty agency in Gilbert, Arizona, where he helps local families and business owners protect what they have built. He is a past Board Chair of the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce, and much of the show's guest list comes from the community he works in every day.
Sitting across from small business owners for a living is what made him want to record these conversations.
